Taking a loan to study in the UK felt like the best investment I could make in my future. I wasn't chasing prestige or a fancy degree. I just believed the UK would give me the opportunities I needed to build the career I wanted. So I borrowed the money and went for it.

I started looking for jobs the moment I landed. I didn't want to wait until graduation to figure things out. I wanted to be ready.

Over the next few months, I sent out more than a thousand applications. Most never got a response. About twenty companies called me for interviews. A handful moved to the final rounds. But nothing was converting.

Then something happened that almost crushed me completely. I'd gone through multiple interview rounds with a company, and they verbally confirmed they wanted to hire me. They said the official offer letter would come by the end of the week. I was relieved. Finally, it felt like things were working out.

When the week passed, I reached out to follow up. They told me they couldn't move forward anymore with NO real explanation!

That hurt was worse than any rejection I'd received. But I kept going, I didn't have another option, actually. I'd already put too much on the line to quit now.

Looking back, I realise I wasted time applying to jobs that had nothing to do with what I'd done before. I was all over the place, hoping something would stick. If I'd focused earlier on roles where I already had experience, things might have moved faster.

Along the line, I found Unimad. They helped me build a portfolio that actually stood out and taught me how to tailor my resume to match what companies were looking for. Suddenly, I wasn't just another name in the pile anymore.

From start to finish, it was all about showing up every day. Even when it felt pointless. Even when nothing was working. I just kept pushing, and eventually, I got two offers. After a thousand applications and months of rejection, something finally broke through.

If you're stuck in your search right now, remember this: consistency beats motivation. Stay disciplined, keep going, and your breakthrough will come.
