September 12, 2022 to March 26, 2024.

18 months. 1000 job applications. 985 rejections. 15 interviews. 8 final rounds. 1 offer.

I chose the UK for my masters because of the one-year duration. Seemed efficient to me.

Six months in, I started applying. The patterns were pretty clear.

Generic CVs led to automatic rejection.

What I did to cut through the ATS was modifying my CV for each application. Not just tweaking a few words, but customising it to make sure it aligned with each role.

I wish I'd focused on CV customisation earlier. Each rejection taught me to sharpen this strategy until it finally broke through.

18 months is a long time to maintain hope. There were dark days.

But I understood that the difference between success and failure in this journey isn't talent or luck.

It's persistence.
